THE PROJECT
A black timber studio on stilts above the granite, for a painter who wanted the sea and nothing else.
01 · THE SITE
A granite shelf on the north coast of Bornholm, open to the wind on every side. We spent a January weekend on the rock before drawing a line.
02 · THE BRIEF
One room to paint in, a bed for the long summer evenings, and nothing that would scar the rock.
03 · THE RESULT
The studio stands on slender legs, so the granite runs on underneath it. One wall of glass faces the sea, and the rest is black larch.
